19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former number one, has had a challenging season, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet defended four early opportunities in a tight final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
