Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police say they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its source; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for information.
An important official said the incident rendered him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
